Directs the Department of Human Services (DHS) to establish at least one pilot program providing an opportunity for human services clients to access faith-based and community organizations for services. Clarifies that a client is not required to participate in services provided by organizations nor will their affiliation with organizations impact their eligibility for services.
Reduces from 1,000 to 500 the number of covered employees and retirees required for self-insurance of health insurance by individual public body other than school district, community college district or community college service district.
Allows nurse practitioners to submit applications to the Board of Nursing for authority to dispense prescription drugs. Authorizes the Oregon State Board of Nursing to adopt rules regarding drug dispensing authority for certified nurse practitioners. Specifies that the Board of Nursing has disciplinary authority regarding nurse practitioners with dispensing authority.
Appropriates $40,000 to the Department of Human Services for administering and increasing the redemption rates for the seniors farmers’ market nutrition program.
Appropriates $49,000 to the Department of Human Services for provision of fruits and vegetables from farmers’ markets to individuals eligible for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program.
