Local legislators will host 2nd annual Economic Summit
Hillsboro, OR— State Senator Bruce Starr (R-Hillsboro) and State Representatives Shawn Lindsay (R-Hillsboro) and Katie Eyre Brewer (R-Hillsboro) are assembling business leaders from Washington County this Wednesday to tackle the question of local job creation and long term economic vitality for the region. The event is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
“What can we do to spur job creation in our community?” said Starr. “That is the question we must answer. This is an opportunity to work with our local business leaders and come up with solutions. The goal is to cultivate opportunity and possibility for businesses and families in Washington County.”
In addition to the legislative hosts, the event will feature a panel including regional economist Jerry Johnson, Bob Grover, owner of Pacific Landscape Management, Amy Waltz, partner at WSC Insurance, Doug Barrett, President of CascadeTEK and Jon Gimre of Gimres Shoes. This panel will help catalyze the discussion by sharing the opportunities and challenges currently facing their businesses.
